Between Sky and Water

Between Sky and Water captures a small group of sandhill cranes gathered along the edge of a wetland, their tall silhouettes repeated in the still water below. At this distance and in this light, much of the detail disappears. The cranes become shape and posture—long necks, slender legs, and familiar profiles outlined against the evening sky. Their reflections extend those forms downward, turning a quiet pause at the water’s edge into something almost symmetrical.
