Double Take
A drinking zebra repeated in the water below—one of my first attempts to use reflection as a deliberate photographic element.
Zebras are always photogenic, but Double Take is personally important because it was one of the first times I consciously used an animal’s reflection as part of the composition rather than simply photographing the animal itself. Stripes become pattern and the water becomes a second frame.
