Easy Does It
A relaxed Kruger elephant and the quiet confidence of an animal completely at ease in its surroundings.
I photographed this elephant in Kruger National Park, where I am always struck by how completely at ease elephants can seem in the landscape.
There is no urgency in this moment—just a relaxed animal standing in the grass. The photograph captures a side of elephants often overshadowed by their scale and power: composure, familiarity with their surroundings, and the confidence of an animal that knows where it belongs.
Enhanced matte paper keeps the finish quiet and low-sheen, preserving detail in the skin and grass without distracting reflections.
